Cuttsy+Cuttsy chooses The Works at Unity Campus as base for future growth

08/09/2020

Cambridge-based property developer and investor Howard Group is delighted to welcome award-winning healthcare communications agency, Cuttsy+Cuttsy to Unity Campus. Cuttsy+Cuttsy has signed a new ten year lease for 5,700 sq ft of first floor office accommodation within The Works.

The Works is the first new building to be constructed within the Unity Campus masterplan, supplementing the existing R&D and office provision on the adjacent Iconix and Langford Arch estates. The unique 63,000 sq ft building provides office, development lab and R&D space at the heart of Unity Campus with a high quality industrial aesthetic featuring exposed services, retention of the original concrete frame and premium finishes designed by one of the world’s leading architects, NBBJ.  The Works is ideally suited to a new generation of agile and innovative high growth businesses.

Colin Brown, Director – Development, Howard Group said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to work with the Cuttsy+Cuttsy team to understand their requirements and aspirations for the business and from there propose a flexible and innovative solution which is a good fit for both parties. The contemporary style at The Works complements the Cuttsy+Cuttsy brand and the design and layout of the space means it is extremely well positioned to ensure staff can enjoy a safe working environment; a key factor for the Cuttsy+Cuttsy team.

“Location was also key – being based at The Works puts Cuttsy+Cuttsy at the heart of the science and technology cluster, while accessibility via public transport and cycling routes were also a priority. Easy access to local running trails was another highlight for this extremely active team!”

Mathew Cutts, Founder, Cuttsy+Cuttsy commented: “We have long been awarded for our working practices, culture and professional development of our team and flexible working has been at the heart of this, so it may seem a strange time for us to be taking on a new and larger space at The Works. We are also firm believers in collaboration and providing a space that our team want to come to and feel safe in is extremely important to us.

“Our job now is to re-imagine the work environment and to turn this space into a place that people want to be in, exchange ideas and do work that really makes a difference to people’s lives. Something we know we can do at The Works.”

Landlord works to configure the space for Cuttsy+Cuttsy will take approximately four to five weeks with a tenant fitout anticipated to complete towards the end of 2020.

Unity Campus is ideally positioned within the fast-paced Cambridge life science and technology cluster. It sits in a prime location close to public transport links (Whittlesford Parkway station is under a mile away), community activities and amenities in nearby Sawston, cycle networks into central Cambridge and some of the region’s most affordable housing. This combination of accessibility from a travel and amenity perspective sets it apart from other business and R&D park locations in the cluster.

Accommodation at The Works is available across a range of adaptable one or two storey layout options, ideal for the requirements of a currently rapidly changing world.
